Le championnat de baseball 2016 marqua la première saison officielle de la [[Simland Baseball League]]. Il regroupait 16 équipes inscrites, dont une ([[New Amsterdam Yankees]] qui avait déjà postulé lors de la première tentative de championnat, jadis. La saison fut longue à se dérouler, mais au final, les [[Aveiro Rangers|Rangers]] parvinrent à remporter le titre.

La saison 2017 est sujette à une réforme de son calendrier qui se voit allégé (phases aller/retour).

Six équipes n'ont pas renouvelé leur bail en [[SBL]] : les [[Brockbain Rattlesnakes|Rattlesnakes]], les [[Great Rivers Lynx|Lynx]], les [[Hanovriabrücken-Whamfalen Wolves|Wolves]], les vice-champions [[Lugbourg Hunters|Hunters]], les [[Sankt-Frantz Elks|Elks]] et les [[Medrean City Grizzlies|Grizzlies]].

La totalité des équipes s'affronte dans une poule unique cette saison (exit les groupes Nord/Sud).


La saison officielle se déroule de ... à .... Ensuite, une phase de play-offs a lieu pour retenir, à la fin, les ??? équipes jouant le titre.

==Matches==
Le tournoi de pré-saison est une compétition non-officielle de la [[SBL]]. Il permet aux clubs de reprendre progressivement le rythme de la compétition. Le titre n'est qu'honorifique.
 
Comme lors de la saison précédente, les Gangstas ont joué les premiers rôles, luttant jusqu'au bout de ce tournoi de pré-saison pour le titre. Tour à tour, ils firent face aux Yankees, aux Kings et parfois aux Rangers. Mais, au final, ce sont les Kings de Barcevilla qui se sont imposés, lors de la dernière journée. Ils étaient à égalité avec Campton et jouaient le trophée contre... ces mêmes joueurs de Campton !
 
Les Kings succèdent donc aux Gangstas.
